Semper Fidelis” or “Always Faithful” is the motto of the United States Marine Corps. Private Billie Joe Compton demonstrated the motto on March 2nd, 1945 when we was killed in action on the island of Iwo Jima. Compton, a Lipan boy was buried on the island 6,000 miles away from home.
