While there is not a lot of information on LT CDR Hillyard. We do know He was married in Hood County in 1916.
He lived in Tolar for several years. After serving in WWI, he again answered his Nations call in WWII.
While serving about the USS North Star, which was a training ship. Lt CDR Hillyard suffered a heart attack while on a training mission.
He was buried in Tolar Cemetery.
