Inducted into the Army November 17, 1942. He received most of his training at Camp Maxey, Texas. From there he went to Camp Swift, Texas and then to Fort Dix, New Jersey. While there he received his overseas orders and sailed from New York September 12, 1944 and landed in England September 22, 1944. They then crossed France into Holland, and then to the front in Germany, where he was killed in action November 30, 1944 and was buried in a military cemetery in Holland.
